Sandra Ramos, M.A., MT-BC, LCAT, is a licensed creative arts therapist, board certified music therapist, who provides therapeutic services to children, adolescents and adults who experience:
- Depression
- Anxiety/panic
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Issues of bereavement
- Truancy (adolescents)
- Attention difficulties
- Relationship struggles, including domestic violence
Sandra's approach is psychodynamic in nature in that she helps individuals gain insight into how their unconscious processes are manifested in their present behaviors and relationships. She provides a safe, honest and judgment free environment where inner struggles are explored utilizing:
Vocal psychotherapy
Guided imagery and music
Drumming
Creative songwriting
Lyric analysis
Music therapy facilitates changes that are non-musical in nature, therefore no prior experience in music is necessary.
Ms. Ramos is a New York University (NYU) and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) graduate. She serves on the New York State Advisory Board for Mental Health Practitioners.
Her experience ranges from clinical supervisor to independent consultant at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, Bronx Psychiatric Center, St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital (C.A.R.E.S), Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center and Hospital Clinic Home Center Instructional Programs.
In her private practice, Sandra works with individuals who have mental health issues. She is committed to healing interpersonal and intrapsychic challenges. Her goal is to empower each person to be his/her very best.
